Problem

Valve pits on a large water pipe line had been poorly constructed and were actively leaking water into the pits with pumps continuously running to keep pits drained.

Scope of Works

Before remedial works could take place, the areas that were leaking had to be reinforced so that further damage didn’t occur. Due to the leaks being active and the amount of water entering the pit, we used a hydrophilic polyurethane with a catalyst added to ensure it set quickly and stopped the ingress of water. On past projects we have been able to stop leaks of 30 litres per minute.
